Revolut Resumes Crypto Staking in Hungary After Regulatory Reevaluation
Revolut has reinstated crypto staking services for Hungarian users following a temporary suspension tied to new local legislation. The fintech firm paused operations earlier this month after Hungary implemented strict crypto regulations under its AMLD5 framework, which criminalizes use of unlicensed platforms.
The decision comes as European regulators intensify scrutiny ahead of MiCA implementation. Hungary's aggressive stance had forced multiple service providers to halt offerings, with Revolut initially restricting access to crypto trading on July 7. The company now confirms staking falls outside the revised law's restrictions on unregistered exchanges.
